The Daikin Altherma total heating and hot water system is based on heat pump technology and represents a flexible and cost effective alternative to a fossil fuel boiler, with a cooling option.The inherent energy efficiency characteristics of Altherma make it an ideal solution to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions. A heat pump extracts low temperature energy from the environment and increases its temperature for heating purposes. Heat pump systems are three to five times more efficient than fossil fuel boilers and are more than capable of warming a house completely, even during the lowest winter temperatures – clearly demonstrated by their overwhelmingly successful application in the cold climates of Scandinavia. In fact, millions of heat pumps are installed across Europe and the market is growing rapidly due to increasing awareness of the system’s obvious benefits.

Because of this advanced technology, three quarters of the heat generated by the Altherma system is actually free of charge. The Altherma air to water heat pump is today’s answer to the current and future problems associated with conventional heating systems, including increasing primary energy costs and unacceptably high environmental impact.
